Status: the 2027 edition is announced for 23–30 January, with the final on Saturday 30. Venue confirmed: the Palau d’Esports L’Illa. Tickets not yet on sale. Checked 28 September 2026.

Benidorm Fest is the contest that picks the Spanish entry for Eurovision, and it has turned the last week of January into Benidorm’s busiest week of the winter: the town runs at around 90% hotel occupancy while the rest of the coast is in low season.

The sixth edition returns to its usual late-January slot after last year’s contest was pushed back to avoid clashing with the centenary of the coronation of the Virgin.

Tickets: the date to watch

Last year tickets went on sale on 22 December, in the middle of Christmas, and the organisers have said they want to bring the sale forward to November, as it used to be.

Benidorm Fest tickets sell out fast. If the plan is to see a show live, sort the accommodation and the transfer before the sale opens, not after.

The venue

It stays at the Palau d’Esports L’Illa, with the same layout and capacity as last year: the jury area was moved out of the hall to fit in one more stand.

Longer term, work starts in December on turning the bullring into the Benidorm Arena. It will not be ready for 2027, but it is where the town wants the festival to end up.

More than the three shows

Benidorm programmes the whole week, with the Euroclub at the centre of everything that is not on television. That is why a lot of people come without a ticket to any show: the atmosphere is in the streets and the side events.

The festival leaves around 1.5 million euros of direct spending in the town, and the council puts the media value at about 80 million.

Where to stay when Benidorm is full

At 90% occupancy, January prices in Benidorm behave like August prices. What many visitors do instead is stay further south, in Torrevieja or Orihuela Costa, where January is still properly low season, and travel up for the show days.

It is about 100 km from Torrevieja, an hour and a quarter by road. Getting there is not the problem; getting back is. The shows finish late at night and there is no public transport that works at that hour.

We do that run with a return time agreed in advance, waiting outside the Palau. For a group of four to eight it usually works out better than any other option at that time of night.

Common questions

When is Benidorm Fest 2027?

23 to 30 January, with semi-finals on Tuesday 26 and Thursday 28 and the final on Saturday 30.

When do tickets go on sale?

No confirmed date yet. The organisers are working towards November; last year they went on sale on 22 December.

Where is it held?

At the Palau d’Esports L’Illa in Benidorm, confirmed for 2027.

Is it worth going without a ticket?

For many people, yes: there is programming in the town all week plus the Euroclub. If that is what you are coming for, any weekday works and accommodation is easier than on final weekend.

Can you get back to Torrevieja the same night?

By car or private transfer, yes, about an hour and a quarter. By public transport at that hour, no.

Other big festivals within reach of the coast: Alicante Bonfires of San Juan and Orihuela Holy Week. The full Spanish-language calendar is at Eventos.
