Orihuela Costa has one of the densest concentrations of golf in Spain. Six courses sit inside a twenty-minute drive, all open to visitors, and you can play twelve months a year — it rarely drops below fifteen degrees in winter, which is why so many northern European players spend the season here.
The courses
| Course | From Villamartín | Character |
|---|---|---|
| Villamartín | — | The 1972 original, P. Puttman design, mature trees |
| Las Ramblas | 5.5 km | Ravines and elevation changes, the most technical here |
| Las Colinas | 11 km | Best conditioned and the most expensive |
| Lo Romero | 18 km | Open and comfortable to walk |
| Vistabella | 21 km | Good value |
| La Finca | 23 km | Long, suits lower handicaps |

Which to play
If you only play one round, Villamartín sums the area up — the oldest course here, thirty-five years of established planting and a layout that works at any standard. Las Ramblas is the demanding one, with ravines and real changes in level, and it is the one better players tend to prefer. Las Colinas is in another league for conditioning, and priced accordingly.
Green fees
Rates swing hard by season, day and tee time — high season can be triple what you pay in August, when few people play because of the heat. There is no point quoting a fixed figure. Tell us the course, the date and how many of you there are and we will confirm the current rate and book the tee time.
Club hire generally starts around 10 € and buggies around 20 €, though that varies by course too.
When to play
October to May is the season: comfortable temperatures, courses in condition, enough daylight. In July and August you go out first thing or late afternoon, because the middle of the day is punishing. January and February are the busiest months, with a lot of long-stay players over from the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.
Transfers
We run you from Alicante airport or from your accommodation to the course, with room for the bags and a pick-up time agreed for when you finish. For a group of three or four it usually beats hiring a car for a couple of days.
Common questions
Do we need a federation licence or handicap certificate?
Most courses here ask for one or the other. Message us before booking and we will confirm for the specific course.
Can visitors play without being members?
Yes, every course in the area takes visitor green fees.
What is there to do on the days we are not playing?
Everything runs from here: Tabarca, the salt lakes and pink lagoon, or a day in Benidorm. And the beaches are five minutes from any of the courses.
Message us on WhatsApp — we will come back with availability and the final price.
