Tarde de playa con sombrillas en Torrevieja

Torrevieja has two things you will not find elsewhere on this coast: the coves south of town, between Punta Prima and Cabo Roig, and the salt lakes with the pink lagoon. Everything we run leaves from the marina or the edge of the natural park, with local skippers and instructors.

The pink lagoon

The colour is real — it comes from algae and bacteria living in water saltier than the sea. It is at its best in the afternoon light, and flamingos are usually somewhere in the frame from spring through to September. You can walk it, or take the tourist train, which goes into the working salt pans and stops for twenty minutes.

The beaches

North of town, La Mata is the long sandy one, good for families. South, past the marina, the coast turns rocky and you get the coves: Cala Piteras, Cala Ferris and the string of small bays down towards Cabo Roig. Better for snorkelling, harder to park in August.

Getting here

Alicante airport is 50 minutes up the AP-7 and Murcia (Corvera) is about the same going south — we cover both. If you are staying in Orihuela Costa you are 10 to 20 minutes away and we pick up from all the urbanisations.
